If you are feeling overwhelmed, it’s likely that you feel that you have too much to do but have too little time.

I invite you to consider these questions:
Do you have too much on your plate professionally or personally? If so, consider this advice: “Only do what only you can only do.” (Sandra Yancey)
Do you think you’re too busy?
Do you try to balance everything instead of prioritizing what really matters?Essentialism by Greg McKeown
Do your thoughts begin with “I should… “?Try saying “I could… “ instead.
Do you think about how you are lacking in comparison to others?Be mindful of spending too much time on social media.
Do you get anxious about your future?Ask yourself: “Am I safe now?”
Do you have too many things to accomplish at work?Be honest with yourself and colleagues regarding your capacity.
Do you feel responsible for the emotions of others?Ask yourself: “Is this mine?”

It is normal and common to feel blah in January as you grapple with post-holidays exhaustion and unrealistic expectations for how you’d feel once the new year arrives.
Feeling “blah” can be the result of hemorrhaging our limited time, energy, and financial resources.

I invite you to consider these questions:
Where have you been hemorrhaging your mental, emotional, or physical energy?
Where have you been hemorrhaging your time?
Where have you been hemorrhaging your money or resources?

It is normal and common to feel blah in January as you grapple with post-holidays exhaustion and unrealistic expectations for how you’d feel once the new year arrives.

Feeling “blah” can be a result of expecting things to be so much better once you get “over there”.

I invite you to consider these questions:
When have you suffered an “expectation hangover” and felt blah?
How realistic were your expectations?
When do you notice rushing to get over there?

Here’s a terrific read by author Christine Hassler:

Clutter will drain your limited and valuable mental, emotional, and physical energy and leaves you feeling blah.

Here’s a decluttering book for your consideration:
The Life Changing Magic Of Tidying Up
I invite you to consider these questions:
Where do you notice having too much stuff?
How willing are you to let go of anything you no longer use or love?
What is the smallest area of a group of things you could declutter first?

It is normal and common to feel blah in January as you grapple with post-holidays exhaustion and unrealistic expectations for how you’d feel once the new year arrives.

When we have unfinished tasks or “business”, these incompleted “to do’s” will inevitably  drain your energy and leave you feeling blah.

I invite you to consider these questions:
Which tasks are you committed to finishing?
Which tasks are you intentionally deciding not to finish?
What might prevent you from finishing?

It is normal and common to feel blah in January as you grapple with post-holidays exhaustion and unrealistic expectations for how you’d feel once the new year arrives.

There are foundational, non-negotiable habits we must be willing to prioritize:
sleep
water
exercise
whole foods

A few questions for your consideration:
How much sleep do you really need?
How willing are you to drink more water?
How often do you exercise?
How willing are you to avoid process food and incorporate more whole foods?

porn
risky behaviors
gambling
Which of these simple pleasures do you actually enjoy?

I encourage you to begin with a brain dump during which you write continuously for 5 minutes without stopping. A brain dump will empty your mind and leave you feeling a bit lighter.

A few questions for your consideration:
What did you expect to feel in this new year?
What do you really feel:disappointed?
depressed?
lethargic
afraid?
worried?
exhausted?
depleted?
something else?
How willing are you to start the habit of dumping your thoughts onto paper?
What might prevent you from doing so?
