If you are a MODERATOR, when might you choose to ABSTAIN:

You might be a MODERATOR if you notice that you:
find it too restrictive to "stay away from" certain foods/drinks ALL THE TIME.
prefer an "occasional indulgence" because it "heightens the pleasure" and "strengthens your resolve".
hear NO and just want more.
find "denying" yourself just makes you want it.
become very preoccupied with food or drink when you don't ever have it.
can have just one square of chocolate or one glass of wine.
notice that the first bite tastes the best, and your pleasure gradually drops.
don't finish the dessert or the drink once you've "had enough".
have something and want it LESS.

You might be an ABSTAINER if you notice that you:
do better when you follow "all or nothing" habits.
find it easier to have ZERO sugar, flour, junk food, wine, than SOME.
find moderating how much you have feels difficult.
find having none feels easier to manage.
prefer having fewer decisions to make.
have more mental energy when you decide to have none.
find NEVER so much easier than SOMETIMES.
think it's easier to say NO to something once, than over and over.
prefer to go "cold turkey".
have a spike in pleasure with the "first bite" and want more and more.
have something and want it MORE.

PHYSICAL HUNGER is your BODY telling you through sensations IN YOUR STOMACH that you need food.
Consider these questions:
Does something “healthy” sound satisfying?
Do you feel the sensations in your stomach?
When was the last time you KNOW with 100% certainty that you experienced physical hunger?
EMOTIONAL HUNGER is your BRAIN wanting to BUFFER (numb, resist, or avoid) a
negative EMOTION you are feeling as a VIBRATION in your body.
Consider these questions:
Do you want to eat junk food?
Are you escaping negative emotions?
Are you shifting the focus off your emotions by giving your body something else to "digest"?
CRAVINGS are your BRAIN telling you that it wants more of a concentrated pleasure:
sugar
alcohol
shopping
social media
Netflix
checking texts/emails
If you are "taking a break" from a concentrated pleasure, you will still have the cravings until your brain gets used to not having the pleasure.
When does your BRAIN throw CRAVINGS your way:
after lunch or dinner?
when you've been drinking more than usual?
when you've had sugar?
late at night?
when you’re tired/exhausted/burned out/stressed?
