When we assign blame, we are saying that other people are responsible for how we feel. When we allow ownership, we get curious about why we decide to accept and tolerate certain behaviors in our relationships.
I invite you to consider these questions:
When do you notice trying to protect loved ones by blaming others who have hurt them?
What might be different if you support your loved one in owning their decisions instead of blaming others?
It’s coming! A group experience designed to help you feel lit up, alive, inspired, and deeply fulfilled again, or, for the first time.

There is a difference between wanting, desiring, and creating something different in your life versus hustling, striving, and grasping for something more. Desiring and creating different comes from a place of abundance, sufficiency, and enoughness.
I invite you to consider these questions:
Are you willing to love and accept where you are, what you’ve accomplished, and what you have exactly as it is from a place of sufficiency and abundance?
Are you striving for something more from a place of inadequacy and scarcity?
How willing are you to create SPACE by:Stopping anything that isn’t serving you?
Purging what you no longer need or love?
Abstaining from new commitments, obligations, or self-sabotaging habits?
Canceling anything that’s keeping you overloaded or shut down?
Eliminating obligations, “shoulds”, or mental, emotional, or physical clutter?
It’s coming! A group experience designed to help you feel lit up, alive, inspired, and deeply fulfilled again, or, for the first time.

I invite you to consider these questions:
Are you making continuous personal or professional progress?
Have you identified your inherent gifts?
Are you developing these gifts and utilizing them to contribute in an impactful manner?
Are you prioritizing your passionate talents?

How To Resign From Being Resigned

Wednesday Jul 03, 2024

Wednesday Jul 03, 2024

There is a huge difference between being “resigned” and intentionally “resigning.” When we’re resigned, it’s as if we’re unintentionally quitting, settling, or defaulting to stay stuck in an unpleasant circumstance, job, relationship, or pattern.
Contrast that to intentionally deciding to stop or leave what is no longer serving our growth, expansion, and well-being by offering a resignation.
I invite you to consider these questions:
What are you currently resigned to enduring?
What beliefs are keeping you in this place of resignation?
How does your body know that you’re in this place of resignation?
What do you intentionally want to decide to resign from?
What might prevent you from doing so?
If you know that you need help getting out of resignation so that you, too, can resign from anything that doesn’t serve your growth long-term,  email me to schedule a complimentary happy hour call:

Why Good Habits Go To Sh*t

Wednesday Jun 26, 2024

Wednesday Jun 26, 2024

We all have times when we seem to revert back to old “bad” habits - even when we’ve been doing a great job creating and maintaining new, “good” habits.

You’re likely returning to a habit that doesn’t serve your health, well-being, or relationships long-term because of the immediate although temporary benefits you get from the habit in the moment. In other words, our “bad” habits off us an escape or an opportunity to numb or avoid difficult emotions and challenging decisions.

I invite you to consider these questions:
What emotions are you trying to escape, avoid, or numb?
What decisions are you resisting?
If you know that you need help getting back on track with your “good” habits,  email me to schedule a complimentary happy hour call.

When there is distance or disconnection in a relationship, we can say that a “rupture” has occurred. Ruptures are not problematic unless a repair or reconnection is not made in a timely fashion.
While it’s important to manage and repair relationship ruptures, the most important relationship in need of repair is the one you have with yourself.
I encourage you to identify and learn to manage the flavor of Inner Critic causing ruptures in the relationship to your best self.
I invite you to take this free Inner Critic quiz:
www.innercriticassessment.com

You will receive an exhaustive report which will enable you to identify and get curious about your Inner Critic and the role it currently plays in your life.

When You're At Your Best

Wednesday Jun 12, 2024

Wednesday Jun 12, 2024

We are at our best when we feel deeply energized because we are investing our time and energy into deeply meaningful connections, work, and projects.

Your body will let you know that you aren’t investing your time and energy in an aligned manner when you feel drained and depleted.

Being attached to what others think, feel, say or expect from you will prevent you from  being at your best.

Seeking approval or validation from others will also prevent you from being at your best.

If you know that you need help saying NO to people and things that interfere with you being at your best, email me to schedule a complimentary happy hour call.

Thank you for investing your valuable time and energy into listening to the podcast. I’m so very grateful for you.

How To De-Stress Yourself

Wednesday Jun 05, 2024

Wednesday Jun 05, 2024

“Dealing with your STRESS is a separate process from dealing with the things that cause your stress. To deal with your STRESS, you have to COMPLETE THE CYCLE.”
Emily Nagoski, PhD/Amelia Nagoski, DMA
Burnout: The Secret To Unlocking The Stress Cycle
What we refer to as “Stress” can be broken down into three parts:
STRESSORS: the triggers that activate the stress response in your body. Triggers can be both external and internal. These stressors cause a stress response in our body.
STRESS RESPONSES: we experience a stress response anytime our Central Nervous System registers any stressor as too much, too fast, or too soon. We may go into Fight, Flight, Freeze, or Fawn.
STRESS CYCLES: our goal is to complete the stress cycle in our bodies by giving ourselves what we really need to either calm down or to re-energize.
When we get triggered by a stressor, our
CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM
tries to
CONTROL it
by going into
a STRESS RESPONSE:
FIGHT
FLIGHT
FREEZE
FAWN
The REAL problem
is NOT the
STRESSOR
or even the
STRESS RESPONSE
(unless you hurt yourself or others).
The REAL problem
is that we
stay stuck
IN stress
rather than
COMPLETING
the STRESS CYCLE.
When you notice having TOO MUCH energy in your body, you’re HYPER-aroused.
When you feel this way, rate the number of your stress/activation on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 = non-existent and 10 being unbearable.
Ask yourself: What do I need to do in order to calm my body down and reduce the amount of energy?
Here are some coping strategies to try:
Exercise
Breathing
shaking/bouncing
Tapping
tense/release your muscles
Go outside
Write down thoughts on paper
Yell in a pillow
Punch a pillow
Lift weights
Dance
Play a sport
Ask for help
draw/paint/create
Cross-lateral stimulation
Meditation
Laughter
Read
Anything mindful that keeps you in the present moment
Color
Word search
Body work like massage or acupuncture
Yoga
Silence
Stillness
solitude
something else?

When you notice having TOO LITTLE energy in your body, you’re HYPO-aroused.
When you feel this way, rate your energy level on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 = no energy and 10 too much energy.
Ask yourself: What do I need to do in order to boost or increase my energy?
Here are some coping strategies to try:
Focus on the five senses and how they impact your energy:
What smells energize me?
Experiment with essential oils… peppermint is great for this.
candles/incense/soaps/perfumes/lotions
What sounds/music energizes me?
Create a playlist.
Listen to a podcast.
Listen to natural sounds on a app.
What do I find energizing to look at?
Is it something outside?
Art?
A vision board or Pinterest board?
Scrapbooks/photos?
What flavors/foods/textures energize me?
Spicy?
Chewy? Crunchy?
Brush your teeth
What can I touch?
Certain fabrics?
Massage
hot/cold showers
Breathwork
Dancing
Spending time with a pet
Seeing friends
Going for a drive
Sitting outside
something else?

When You're Stressed

Wednesday May 29, 2024

Wednesday May 29, 2024

“Dealing with your STRESS is a separate process from dealing with the things that cause your stress. To deal with your STRESS, you have to COMPLETE THE CYCLE.”

Burnout: The Secret To Unlocking The Stress Cycle

by going into
a STRESS RESPONSE:
FIGHT
FLIGHT
FREEZE
FAWN
“The FIGHT response happens when you feel you're in danger, but you believe you can overpower the threat.“
You cry
You feel like punching someone or something
Your jaw is tight, or you grind your teeth
You glare at people or talk to them with anger in your voice
You feel like stomping or kicking
You feel intense anger
You feel like killing someone, perhaps even yourself
Your stomach feels tied in knots, or you have a burning feeling in your stomach
You may feel:
irritated
annoyed
frustrated
angry
irate
enraged
“When you believe you can overcome the danger by running away, your brain prepares your body for FLIGHT.”
Your legs are restless
You feel numbness in your extremities
Your eyes dilate and dart around
You constantly move your legs and feet
You're fidgety
You're tense
You feel trapped
You exercise excessively
You may feel:
unsure
worried
anxious
scared
frightened
terrified
“When you feel neither running nor fighting is the best choice, you can freeze instead:”
You feel cold
You have numbness in your body
Your skin is pale
You feel stiff or heavy
You have a sense of dread
Your heart is pounding
Your heart rate may decrease
You feel yourself tolerating the stress
You may feel:
shut down
numb
immobilized
disconnected
petrified
“When you've tried fight, flight, or freeze several times without success, you may find yourself using the fawn response… your only hope of survival might be compliance and helpfulness… you are more concerned about making them (people who’ve triggered you) happy than about doing what's right for you.”
(“Fight, Flight, Freeze: How To Recognize It And What To Do When It Happens.”

How To Feel Less Stressed

Wednesday May 22, 2024

Wednesday May 22, 2024

“Dealing with your STRESS is a separate process from dealing with the things that cause your stress. To deal with your STRESS, you have to COMPLETE THE CYCLE.”
Emily Nagoski, PhD/Amelia Nagoski, DMA
Burnout: The Secret To Unlocking The Stress Cycle
What we refer to as “Stress” can be broken down into three parts:

STRESS RESPONSES: we experience a stress response anytime our Central Nervous System registers any stressor as too much, too fast, or too soon. We may go into Fight, Flight, Freeze, or Fawn.
STRESS CYCLES: our goal is to complete the stress cycle in our bodies by giving ourselves what we really need to either calm down or to re-energize.
Tonight we’re diving into stressors.
A stressor can be anything you:
See
Hear
Smell
Touch
Taste
Or imagnine will threaten your safety.
EXTERNAL STRESSORS might include:
work
money
family
time
obligations
expectations
relationships
INTERNAL STRESSORS may include:
self-criticism
memories
identity
body image
Other INTERNAL STRESSORS are FEELING:
excluded
powerless
unheard
scolded
judged
blamed
disrespected
lonely
ignored
forgotten
unsafe
unloved
treated unfairly
frustrated
disconnected
trapped
passionless
uncared for
manipulated
controlled
These STRESSORS
cause a
STRESS RESPONSE
in our body.

I invite you to consider these questions:
When do you notice getting triggered:
in a certain place?
with a specific person?
in a type of situation?
something else?
Which external stressors do you experience?
Which internal stressors do you experience?
Which stressors can you delele from your life entirely?
Which stressors can’t be deleted but can be  managed?
