When You’re Triggered In Social Settings
Because we’re human beings with human brains and bodies, we are going to get triggered at times when we’re in a social setting or scrolling on social media.
We tend to get triggered when we compare ourselves to others in regard to:
- appearance/attractiveness/clothing
- wealth/income
- education/intelligence
- gifts/talents/strengths
- social status/relationship status
- success/achievements
- career/job
- children’s accomplishments
- your zip code
I invite you to consider these questions:
- When have you noticed feeling inferior in regard to your:
- appearance?
- income or financial status?
- level of education or type of intelligence?
- your children or lack thereof?
- residence or neighborhood?
