It is normal and common to feel blah in January as you grapple with post-holidays exhaustion and unrealistic expectations for how you’d feel once the new year arrives.

I encourage you to begin with a brain dump during which you write continuously for 5 minutes without stopping. A brain dump will empty your mind and leave you feeling a bit lighter.

A few questions for your consideration:

  • What did you expect to feel in this new year?
  • What do you really feel:
    • disappointed?
    • depressed?
    • lethargic
    • afraid?
    • worried?
    • exhausted?
    • depleted?
    • something else?
  • How willing are you to start the habit of dumping your thoughts onto paper?
  • What might prevent you from doing so?
