When You Feel Blah In January
My new book Intentional Intoxication: How To Deliberately Distill The Different Life You Desire, is available on Amazon. You can imbibe on the entire book in one, short, intentionally happier hour:
It is normal and common to feel blah in January as you grapple with post-holidays exhaustion and unrealistic expectations for how you’d feel once the new year arrives.
I encourage you to begin with a brain dump during which you write continuously for 5 minutes without stopping. A brain dump will empty your mind and leave you feeling a bit lighter.
A few questions for your consideration:
- What did you expect to feel in this new year?
- What do you really feel:
- disappointed?
- depressed?
- lethargic
- afraid?
- worried?
- exhausted?
- depleted?
- something else?
- How willing are you to start the habit of dumping your thoughts onto paper?
- What might prevent you from doing so?
