How To Be Senstive To Others Without Self-Sacrificing
We can be sensitive to the needs of others without sacrificing our own health, well-being, and relationships.
“... being sensitive to the emotional needs of others is actually about understanding other people’s emotional needs but not necessarily doing something about them. It can hold space without taking it on as something to fix. And, when we are really honest with ourselves about what belongs to us and what doesn’t, our capacity, our boundaries, and our values, it is easy to know when to hold space and when to try to meet their needs.”

I invite you to consider these questions:
- When do you notice setting yourself on fire in order to keep others warm?
- When do you notice assuming that it is your responsibility to “fix” someone else’s emotions?
- How willing are you to give yourself the permission to be sensitive to the emotional needs of others without having to do anything about them?
