Feeling Powerless

An EMOTIONAL TRIGGER is any person, words, actions, situations, or environments that make us emotionally uncomfortable. We’ll likely experience intense, excessive physical sensations. 

When we feel powerless, it may be because circumstances feel:

  • unpredictable
  • uncontrollable
  • uncertain

I invite you to consider these questions:

  • What do you have the power to think, feel, and do?
  • What do you have control over, and what don’t you?
  • What makes uncertainty so unnerving?
  • How can you empower yourself to take just one next step?
