Feeling Lonely
An EMOTIONAL TRIGGER is any person, words, actions, situations, or environments that make us emotionally uncomfortable. We’ll likely experience intense, excessive physical sensations.
“At the heart of loneliness is the absence of meaningful social interaction - an intimate relationship, friendships, family gatherings, or even community or work group connections.”
Atlas of the Heart
Brene Brown, PhD, MSW
When we feel LONELY, we feel deeply disconnected or isolated from others.
I invite you to consider these questions:
- When do you notice feeling disconnected or isolated?
- When do you notice feeling lonely in:
- an intimate relationship?
- a friendship?
- your family?
- the community?
- your workplace?
- What might prevent you from reaching out to form a connection with others?
- Who has earned the right to your vulnerability?
- With whom do you share mutual values, passions or hobbies?
