Feeling Judged
An EMOTIONAL TRIGGER is any person, words, actions, situations, or environments that make us emotionally uncomfortable. We’ll likely experience intense, excessive physical sensations.
When we feel JUDGED, it may be because we’re telling ourselves that someone else is deciding whether or not we’re:
- good or bad
- right or wrong
- worthy or unworthy
- adequate or inadequate
and we worry that we’re going to be punished.
I invite you to consider these questions:
- When do you notice feeling judged?
- What’s the worst thing someone else could think or say about you?
- How are you worried you might be punished by yourself or others?
- When do you notice judging or punishing yourself or others?
